Anna Haracz: „Aumakua“ ... because it is like this, the cause of the sound is movement. If the movement is geometrically designed, the musical gestures being created present a mathematical regularity. It was called harmony by the Pythagoreans. It was for them the ratio of the number and was created by a number.

The film is the image of the meeting of modern man with nature. Man living in the city, with nature, which he belonged to, the other day. Heaven was the roof of our house. Trees were the walls and the ground was the floor. Once, nature was our home! It was our nature.
So what is left? Nowadays nature still gives us the food. To smart people - warm shelter. But still threatens us. Our life is no longer included in the cycle of lunar phases. We created our own galaxy. Again describing the time based on our needs. Plus minus one hour, during periods of spring and autumn solstice. And when you forget about the 'wars and the like' , probably there would be a lot of advantages, even though it is rather a natural disaster, isn't it?and a little puzzling is, why regardless of the honors you play, it is so good to sit in a forest and breathe...Sentiment? So much is left? Nature will be the nature. Some more time. And somewhere there that it cannot come in the way of human interest. What about the nature? What is our nature?
"Between" - based on Polish Dictionary, is a preposition that indicates, that what is in question, from both sides is surrounded by something. Dance Cinema "Between" based on the Description of Idea, gives information, that a man is always in some context. He is surrounded by something. And here the word "something" in the literal meaning can be understood as the external world. Beautiful and useful material (often with a wonderfully full-strength "pe fał ce"), but also the internal world. Thoughts, emotions, feelings, fears (all beautiful too, but often, it might seem, a little less useful). It is in between.
concept and direction: Anna HaraczBody. Misunderstood, unknown, refused, beautifying, trained, condemned, adored. Body.
The body is our physical, mental and spiritual manifestation of the existence. Here on Earth. Ignorance creates fear. Fear creates a dependence and aggression. Fear gives birth to self-harm. If there is any difference between the body mentally, physically and spiritually? What makes the body...that Body is sacred? And when it is defined as sinful?
Where is the line between the sacred and the profane? Or maybe one defines the other? On the principle point of reference ... they are entire part called humanity?
Reviews:
"...performance "Silent Body " of Variatino Cinema Theatre directed by Anna Haracz, who courageously decided to change it in many ways, leaving several important elements. This is the second premiere of the spectacle - Kasia Pastuszak from Amareya Theatre replaced Ania Krysiak. It's was a risky procedure, but entirely successful.
New "Silent body" is a readable, clear and strong performance. Individual scenes are physically refined, and solo and duet parts filled with presence and personality of the dancers. The whole piece, it is not formed from scrap patchwork but a coherent and interesting story of the oppressed, controlled and underrated body."

"A woman, who sweeps the forest" is an image of daily tasks, which are unnecessary work to anyone. Forest doesn't need to be cleaned, people don't need the forest to be swept. The only person, for whom it makes sense is the woman working. The work, which doesn't really build, doesn't create and doesn't change. By itself, however, it has got the meaning and value. It's like a Buddhist mandala painting that can be destroyed afterwards without any attachment.
Reviews:
"What seems to me particularly worth to mention in "A woman, who sweeps the forest" is a beautiful harmony of all elements of the performance: music (again composed by Tomasz Antonowicz ), lights, scenography, costume, and of course, choreography and dance. Perfectly performed.
And also that Anna Haracz resigned from trying to be a star on the stage. She allowed of all those elements to have a voice, creating her own universe. She performs for us, the audience. And it makes great sence".
Tadeusz Skutnik, Dziennik Baltycki, January 2009
"In the symmetric space, divided into four zones (parts of the world?) a dancer rhythmically repeats her movements. There is no place for violence, competition and struggle in her actions. This is a demonstration of the technique, full of softness, grace and femininity. Nothing, but an affirmation of the stagnant world, which needs a little beauty. It works like a meditation of movement and sound, to which Anna Haracz invites the audience."

Between leaving and return time still flies, slowly ... This is my time and my space. Secret, dark place where I can find only the truth ... about myself ... I go from one to the other, I recognize them, stop being afraid ... The strength is inside me ... I am not afraid any more .
Reviews:
This time Anna Haracz cursing reality was absolutely convincing in the role of kind of shaman. In this reality also performed Tomasz Antonowicz, playing live the ceramic drums. In the performance "...but it is still true ..." it was sensed of being under the devil's power of Haracz, which went beyond the stage, enchanting the audience. "

What makes the concentration, attention, peace and security state better and understood deeper? For sure not listening the opinion form outside. Thanks to that state you can feel confident and accurately perform your job (in this case dance, play).
Awareness of being watched, judged (vision) creates a tension in the body, the excessive reaction of the efforts to diminish the internal and external space. We lose a sense of freedom and joy. When no one is watching us dancing, we perform for the pleasure of movement, the need to express what is in us at the moment.
The movement and the sound is more free, more beautiful, and surprisingly more precise, and above all real.
When we don't say negative things to ourselves we are strong and stable in what it is. Thus, a multimedia performance is somehow a story that contains personal thoughts and inner exploration of what is inside us.
Reviews:
"Flashing pictures of eyes, ears and mouth, displayed in the corner of the background translates the semantic clues of her dance. Moreover, what we need to feel in, is hypnotic, mantra rhythm of percussion instruments played by Tomasz Antonowicz. Each incarnation of the performer is accompanied by a change of photography theme and different costume made by Magda Kwaśnik - always white, but different headgear."

choreography and dance: Anna Haracz (structured improvisation)Floral war in Aztec tradition is the struggle of two armies in which no one was the enemy. Those who lost in this war had to accept the honor, slavery, and death becoming a sacrifice to the gods. The fight, which was transformed into an element of worship existed in human consciousness as the essence of life in a "borrowed" time.
Anna Haracz: The performance is full of respect outline what I see today as its manhood, hopefully not just a woman's way of seeing. Improvisation is a way to change things without interfering, to find things not chasing after them, by doing "nothing" to be present and necessary.
Reviews:
"In many indigenous cultures, especially the man built his personal power. Personal power is something that I have, regardless of whether I have a car and I am successful. Fills me and radiates to others no matter what gadgets I have."
Zbigniew Miłuński
"Floral war" of Anna Haracz I would call a graphics. And the graphics made in a high contrast form, as woodcut or linocut ... Anna Haracz delightfuly manipulating the moods made a surprise. She appears as a great contrasts juggling."

choreography and dance: Anna HaraczLove today smacks of banality ... (unfortunately). So don't dwell on it too long. Therefore, we spend only a few minutes inside someone who loves ... Without any drama, but with obstacles.
„Invitation of Anna Haracz for "Five minutes about love" is a loyalty to classical dance theater.”

choreography, dance, costume, film: Anna HaraczPolish folk song ... a thought, that what is at the beginning is a window of new opportunities, which becomes a limitation over some time... when you notice it, it is good to come out and let it be, feel the flow of commonness.
"More than you expect " expresses a state of soul at a time when you get more than seemed possible.
The performance was created during the workshop for young choreographers from Eastern Europe in Polli Talu Art Centre in Estonia. During the workshop the artists took classes of choreography, music and lighting design, conducted by teachers from New York.
The main goal of workshop was to create by participants fully independent choreography, together with music and visual design. The artist admits that the classes with Douglas Dunn (dancer of Merce Cunningham and Yvonne Rainer) convinced her to create a performance, based on improvisation movement. The space of the stage is limited by the lights, forming part of a modest and suggestive scenery. Music became the inspiration for the movement, which she skillfully put into a specific folk rhythm "for seven". The result is the consistent performance, centered around the theme of marriage seen through the prism of its specific, folk character.
Reviews:
"Performance "More than you expect" is based on the images way of thinking, which expresses more than the words could express, being experienced by the artist. Easily we can be drawn into the magical world, not really knowing when."
